The worlds biggest sporting event in history, the 37th WSOP main event has been dragged into the spotlight as scandal erupted across the felt.

Main event winner Jamie Gold is being sued for half his prize winnings ($6m) by a television producer with whom he allegedly made a pre-WSOP deal on winnings.

Hollywood agent Gold has so far only been able to collect half of his $12m 1st prize after TV producer Bruce Crispin Leyser filed a legal claim to half of the booty.

He is believed to be the head of illegal betting site www.betbsbnow.com. The site claimed to be operating out of Costa Rica but undercover police have revealed that the site is based domestically and therefore operating illegally, within the US

The Hull based professional poker player, Dave 'the devilfish' Ulliott is turning his hand to acting. He is starring in a short film about a boy who is born with a poker face. Arguably the best and most famous poker player in the UK, Devilfish will play a pivotal role in the film.

TEXAS HOLD 'EM TAKES A GRIP ON UK GAMING
