It is well advised that when you play online poker at a ten handed table that you use the "top ten only" strategy which is laid out in the: Limit Hold 'em: Beginners' strategy page on this site. It is a simple, safe and very effective strategy to use and it will allow you to build up some profits while you play poker in cyber space.

The reason this slow, secure strategy is recommended is that online players in small stakes poker play so badly that the "top ten only" strategy will be a big winner in the long haul. There is no need to get fancy and take big swings in terms of your profit/loss online. Please be aware that you should only play in specific games which relate to the size of your bankroll. If risking $100 is what you want to do, a maximum of a $1-$2 limit is what you should play. This allows you to have 50 big bets to play with and this will give your "top ten" strategy a chance to succeed. However, 50 big bets are still not that much money in a poker game and 100 big bets are a much safer amount to start with. This strategy is not a 100% full proof plan when playing online every night, luck sometimes plays its part, and everybody at some point will get unlucky so the main thing is when using this system is not to be discouraged after an unlucky run.
