POKER HALL OF FAME

The poker hall of fame was created to commemorate those who deserve recognition for what they have achieved throughout their lives and career and how they have assisted in developing the game of Poker.

We want to hear from you!!! See the bottom of the page for details!

Let the induction begin..................................

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next person to be inducted into the hall of fame is a man who most professional poker players would consider to be the best No Limit Hold 'em player of all time, having won the World championship no less than 3 times.
Gambling was a part of this mans life from an early age and at ten years old, he started playing Gin rummy. As a natural born hustler, he began to make and take money off of middle-aged men from all over New York, before winning $10,000 as a 15 year old in a Gin Rummy competition.
Over the course of his playing career he was reported to have won an estimated $30 million in tournament play alone, including another $5 million from Porn baron Larry Flint and remains one of only two players to have won the WSOP main event 3 times, with back to back wins in '80 and '81 and then claiming a 3rd title in 1997.
Unfortunately, he was found dead in the Oasis motel, Las Vegas the very next year with Cocaine, methadone and the painkiller Percodan all in this 42 year old mans bloodstream. A lifetime of Highs and lows led to the world being robbed of one of its most naturally gifted players and at the time of his passing, after all his success he was found only to have $800 to his name.
Many would call him a flawed genius and MasterPokerPlay believes he fully deserves the right to be in the Hall of Fame. Congratulations.........................

For many generations, poker has been dominated by men. However, over the last few decades, more and more women have been taking up the game and competing on the same level as their male counterparts. There are now many women at the top end of the top professional level alongside Hellmuth, Brunson and Ivey, to name a few. With help from you, we want to know who the first female should be to be inducted to the Hall of Fame. Players such as Annie Duke and Jennifer Harman are obviously contenders but why do YOU think a certain player should be in the hall of fame? Only 1 can be the 1st female in and we want to know who you think and why and the best arguements will be posted on the site. Get in touch with us at contactus@masterpokerplay.com
